How to telnet in your POP3 server from your Windows - based computer and what can you do after you are logged inPCTech
Posted by PCTech on May 11, 2005 (last modified on Nov 12, 2005) Here is how to do this, explained in simple words: 2. Click on the “Run” option in the “Start” menu. 3. In the text box next to “Open” type “cmd” (for Win XP or Win 2000 Pro), or “command” (for Win 95, Win 98, Win ME, Win NT 4.0). 4. Press “Enter” or click “OK”. 5. The “command prompt” window will open on the screen. 6. In this window type “telnet ‘YourIncomingServer’* 110”. 7. Press “Enter” 8. You should get “+OK InterMail POP3 server ready.” or a similar message. 9. You will have to type word “user”, press the space bar on the keyboard one time and type your “user name”** 10. Press “Enter” 11. You should get “+OK please send PASS command”. 12. Now type the word “pass”, press the space bar on the keyboard one time and type your “password”*** 13. You will get “+OK ‘user name’ is welcome here”. Now you are logged on to your POP3 server through telnet.
